Construction Time Estimation Function for Canadian Utility Scale Power Plants

Construction time and overruns for infrastructure projects have been frequently studied; however, the construction of power plants has not studied. This lack study is problematic, as more renewable energy plants, such wind solar, are planned many jurisdictions. Accurately estimating a plant will assist planning, budget estimates, policy development encouraging use sources. The times utility scale in Canada were studied using publicly available data. Multiple linear regression analysis techniques applied to data generate estimation functions all together, individual technologies. analyses reveal that sensitive jurisdiction decade construction, indicating decisions made by Canadian provincial governments at different had statistically significant impacts on time. also indicated strong function installed capacity, independent technology. finding suggests large solar or facilities encounter longer similar hydroelectric facilities.
